Course Description

People across the globe and through the ages have developed unique conflict resolution strategies: from individual mediators to informal councils of elders to formal structures for lodging grievances. This theoretical and practical course examines the various methods and strategies that communities and societies through the ages and across the globe have successfully employed to address conflict. Methods and materials include anthropology/ethnography, scripture, folklore, and wisdom literature, as well as conflict resolution and peace and conflict studies.
